Six months ago my world was smaller,
 Quiet nights, routine days.
Then soft paws thundered through my life,
 And nothing’s been the same.

Half a year of growing hearts,
Of learning how to love this deep.
Your laughter lives inside your barks,
 Your joy in every leap.

You don’t measure life in hours,
 Or mark the passing years.
But I’ve counted every wag and kiss,
 In laughter, love, and tears.

Best six months, my sweetest joy,
A truth I think she knows.
The proof is written on my face,
Each time I watch you grow.

One year old, my little pack,
Three shadows racing through the sun.
I never knew my soul was missing,
 Until you made me one.
